A Dual Crisis: DEMENTIA & LONELINESS

Our Mission

MemorableLife addresses two intersecting global crises that threaten the quality of life for millions of older adults: the exponential rise of dementia and the silent epidemic of loneliness.

1. The Dementia Emergency

We are facing a global health challenge of unprecedented scale. Currently, over 55 million people worldwide are living with dementia, a figure projected to nearly double every 20 years, reaching 78 million by 2030 and 139 million by 2050. The urgency is visible in the earliest stages of cognitive decline; approximately 50% of individuals diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) go on to develop dementia within five years.

This demographic shift is most visible in "super-aged" societies like Japan. As highlighted by the BBC, people aged 65 and over now constitute nearly 30% of Japan's population—the highest proportion in the world after Monaco. This shift has created critical safety challenges; in one year alone, over 18,000 elderly people with dementia were reported missing in Japan, with tragic outcomes for hundreds who wandered away from home.

2. The "Silent Epidemic" of Loneliness

Compounding the cognitive crisis is the growing social health threat of isolation. The World Health Organization has declared loneliness a "global public health concern," with health risks comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

Widespread Impact: Social isolation affects an estimated 1 in 3 older adults globally.

Health Consequences: Chronic loneliness is not just an emotional burden; it increases the risk of heart disease, stroke, and premature death, and is linked to a 50% increased risk of developing dementia.

Our Mission

MemorableLife exists to bridge this gap. By combining cognitive support tools with connection-focused technology, we aim to mitigate the isolation that accelerates decline and provide a safety net for the world's rapidly aging population.
