MemorableLife is a "Therapeutic AI Companion", an app designed to alleviate loneliness and mitigate cognitive decline in seniors within the global ageing crisis. We are an AI-First Social Enterprise and Health-Tech startup.

Our architecture utilizes Google’s Gemini models and Vector Search to deliver Reminiscence Therapy (RT)—a clinical intervention that requires empathetic pacing, deep memory retention, and culturally specific context. Unlike standard voice assistants, our "Biographer Engine" retains long-term autobiographical context, allowing seniors to explore their life stories. Designed by speech and reminiscence therapists, MemorableLife transforms raw AI into a Supportive Witness.

Project Status: We have transitioned from MVP to a Production-Grade Conversational Architecture, scheduled for a pilot release in January-February 2026.

We address two intersecting global health threats:

• The  Cognitive Crisis: Over 55 million people live with dementia, a figure set to double every 20 years. Short-term memory fades, but long-term emotional memory remains accessible, if accessed correctly.

• The Loneliness Epidemic: The WHO has declared loneliness a "global public health concern." It increases dementia risk by 50% and carries  mortality risks comparable to smoking.

The Solution: 

• MemorableLife AI supports Reminiscence Therapy (RT) that is scientifically proven to significantly improve cognitive function and reduce depressive symptoms in older adults - including those with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). 

• MemorableLife is clinically Informed, not just 'tech-driven'. Overseen by our expert Reminiscence  and Speech Therapists, we adhere to the highest standards of person-centered care. We don't just record stories; we support the personhood and identity of the individual behind the memory.

We are pioneering a Voice-First, Hands-Free interface built on Google Cloud Vertex AI and designed for high accessibility. The application will be fully operable via voice commands, removing reliance on visual cues or touch interactions, making it highly accessible to blind or low-vision users, designed to overcome key barriers in geriatric voice-AI interaction.

• Fluid Dialogue: Leveraging Vertex AI to orchestrate Gemini models and Voice Activity Detection (VAD), we have removed 'wake words' and button presses. Seniors speak naturally, pause to think, and are heard.

• The Biographer Engine: Our backend utilises Firestore and Vector Embeddings to turn scattered conversations into structured "Meaning." The AI remembers a favourite childhood toy mentioned months ago, building deep trust.

• Caregiver Oversight: All management functions are controlled within the Caregiver Portal.  This is a secure, Cloud-Native portal allows families to monitor well-being via AI-generated summaries without invading the senior’s privacy.

Two-Tier Privacy:  We use a Two-Tier Privacy Architecture to ensure seniors can speak freely without fear of surveillance.

Session-Only Listening: Our "Non-Listening Policy" ensures the microphone is physically disengaged when not in an active therapeutic session.

Clinical Safety: Real-time classifiers detect distress and route alerts to caregivers while filtering out sensitive PII.
